Resting Wings

Wind stopped
Stand still
Stand still!

No movement yet.

Just hanging out
Green all up and
In My face.

Just a flutter
Just a tiny beating

Wind stopped…
Wings Rest!

All Green and Flowing

You put me in this container
And expect that I will flourish.

All Green and Flowing..

You fill me up with water and
Think that I will not drown.

All Green and Flowing…

Each edge each connection
Reaching out cautiously.

All Green and Flowing…

How long will I survive
In this container
Filled up with water as
I reach out cautiously?

How long will I remain…

All Green and Flowing?

Cloaked in Beauty

I sit quietlyIMG_1447
Drinking in life.

Bent wood and
Shapely curve of trunk
Entwined in a mystery
Of verdant splendor.

I sit nestled neatly
In between long
Green and brown
Fingers pointing
Upwards with flourish
And grace.

Stillness all around
In this magickal

I hear the
Whispering of
Voices anchored in
The ground beneath.

I feel the strength of life
Pulsing through
Bark and limb and
Leafy Green.

IMG_1409I breathe in deeply

And exhale the memory of grove and magick.

I am cloaked
In Beauty.

The Gates of
My Soul opening
In welcoming embrace
Of each step taken
Amidst the Wisdom
Of the Trees.

These pictures were taken at Ridley Creek State Park at the Mansion. My husband and I went there yesterday and he wanted to show me the Park Office area. I had no idea that this magickal space was there as well and now know where I will go for a healthy dose of Mystical Trees, natural energy and serenity.

This one gets placed here.
And, that one goes over there.
Let’s move these two up here.
That will give the whole picture
A strong and clear focal point.

Oh, but wait, we must add these two.
They are perfectly shaped and are contrast in color.
And, the last one goes here to balance everything.

Now, if only humans could see the patterns
The way we trees do when we shed our cones.

I’ve not posted here in a while. Largely because of unexpected commitments and the need to focus my energy elsewhere. I realize that I missed my adventures into the natural world and the creative flow of writing about what I’ve experienced. I also realized that his is a sort of patterning that is my own.

I carefully place this idea here and that project there and although the picture is orderly and appears to be just what is needed to complete a whole pattern, it can never remain that way. Other leaves fall around what has been placed, some completely obscuring the pattern originally intended. Strong winds come along or the downpour of rains that set adrift what has been carefully planned and placed as part of the perfect pattern.  And, before you know it, time has moved forward and a new pattern has replaced the old.

So with these thoughts in mind, I am re-patterning. Part of that plan is to make sure that I “make” time to engage in the natural world; to savor the pleasure I take in capturing those special moments on pen and in image. And, to allow myself to flow with these new patterns, giving more import to neither one nor the other, but seeing them as intimately connected to one another in the natural cycle of change.

Can You See Me? -2IMG_0253

I’m hiding in the palette
Of fall leaves
Can you see me?

Light splatters like paint
Over my body and my leaves
Are brilliant with Fall light.

Can you see me?

Fall Moon

Mother Moon rides high across dark sky
Framed by foliage of fall’s grace.

She shines clear and bright
As leafy bough sways gently
Tracing a path in the fragrant
Smoke of burning leaves and
Chill of autumn’s wind.

She needs no frame of accent
Her beauty lights the night sky
And all of earthbound anchor
Sigh at the beauty of Her splendor.

A beautiful day for a drive and honoring of Fall Moon’s night.
